Harvest held a veteran’s appreciation event this past month where more than 100 Harvest veterans were honored. Our very own Gracie Murray sang the national anthem and Harvest children held the flag for the pledge of allegiance. It was great to see the community gather together to honor and remember our American heroes.
It was also a special day because Building Homes for Heroes made a surprise announcement at the event. They gifted a mortgage-free home to Army Sergeant Kody Wilson. It was a big surprise and a gift of a lifetime. Sergeant Wilson lost his leg when an improvised explosive device detonated during a convoy in Iraq. You can watch the NBC coverage for more details!
For his service to his country, Sergeant Wilson received many awards such as the Purple Heart. We are thankful for his service and look forward to welcoming Sergeant Wilson, his wife Laura, and their three children to the Harvest Family.
